Growing Girl

This will be a quick update because we are trying to get to bed early tonight and get some extra sleep. 

Ainsley is continuing to do well.  She seems to be adjusting to the CPAP level of four.  She has had less As & Bs and rests more comfortably.  It is really great to see her doing so well!

I titled this post "Growing Girl" for a couple of reasons:  she got a new bed and she is now 3 1/2 pounds! 

As you may have seen in our other pictures her bed had a top that could be raised up, allowing easy access to her.  We called it her convertible bed.  Well, now that she is more stable and has grown (she is at 31 weeks and 1 day) she has moved to a different bed.  It is very similar to her old one, it just doesn't have the fancy top.   It still allows for the quiet and darkness (womb like) that the other bed did.  The staff told us they like to save those for the more critical patients, so our "big girl" has a "big girl" bed.

We are also thrilled that she continues to gain weight.  It is crazy to look at pictures of her from the first few days and compare them to now.  Keep it up Ainsley.

One quick story - as we have mentioned she is feisty and we LOVE that.  It means she is well enough to let us know what she does/doesn't like.  The other day the nurse checked on her and was surprised to see that she had pulled off her hat and her CPAP and had pulled her OG (feeding) tube completely out.  She is letting us know she is ready to have those things off.  We really love seeing that personality!

An update on the caffeine  level - we finally got the results back and it was at a normal level so they are not going to change the dose.  Also, since she is doing better they are not going to do the chest x-ray.
