Ainsley had a great day. She is continuing to do well off of the CPAP. Today it was decided to turn her down to two on the nasal cannula (she had been at three) because she has been doing well with her oxygen saturation. She only had two spells (apnea/brady) the night prior so the doctor/NNP decided the discontinue her caffeine.
It has been fun to see the changes in our daughter as she grows. She is now 34 and 1 (34 weeks and 1 day). Ainsley is awake more often and is more able to interact with us. As mentioned in previous posts she is beginning to work on breast feeding. This will be a process as she learns to suck, swallow, and breathe. It is a lot for her to work on that coordination. At this point we are trying to have her breast feed at every other feeding in order to build her stamina without tiring her out. We watch for her cues on when she is ready and able to handle all these new parts of being older.
We are so proud of our amazingly strong girl and we are falling more and more in love with her each day.
