Teeth & Solid Foods

Wow - it has been too long since our last blog post.

Our girl just keeps growing and developing!  You can see some of her new accomplishments in the title of this post.  She is now enjoying (for the most part) solid food and she has two teeth coming in.  So far she has been eating sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, avocado, and oatmeal.  As you will see from some of the pictures below carrots were not her favorite.  Ainsley has been adjusting well to solid food and really enjoys eating with mommy and daddy.

Yes, we have entered the time of teething.  This business has made Ainsley quite fussy from time to time.  Poor girl.  So far two teeth on the bottom are starting to poke through.  She continues to chew on everything and drool big time.

Ainsley had her first trip to the Metolius!  We went up for a couple of nights with Grammy and Grandpopz.  We had a great time.  Ainsley really enjoyed being in the backpack for our walk and had fun playing with her grandparents.  We all enjoyed getting out of the house and the change of pace.

Speaking of getting out of the house we are nearing the end of RSV & cold/flu season - yay!!  We are thinking that at this point in May we will begin to live a bit more of a normal life with Ainsley.  This means going out more and introducing our kiddo to the great big world out there.  We will still of course need to avoid people that are sick and have visitors and those that want to hold Ainsley wash their hands.  We want her to continue to remain healthy.  Her lungs will not be fully developed until age two, so we want to keep them as healthy as possible as they grow.

You might remember we mentioned Ainsley having an appointment at the Developmental Follow Up Clinic this month.   Well, some how our referral got lost and to make a long story short our appointment is at the end of this week.  We are eager to see how they feel she is developing and learn more ways we can support her.  We will update the blog with the info we get from them.

What a sweet girl! I think that's how much Soph weighed at her 1 year appointment :)

Those are some great pictures. You can really see her personality beginning to emerge and I love the wide-eyed wonder on her face when about to go on the hike :)

Also, wanted you to know that Madelyn randomly tells us about Baby Ainsley from time to time (without prompting...didn't know she had that good of a memory) -- looks like all three of us can't wait for the spring and summer time with you guys!
