6 Months Old!

Wow, our little girl is 6 months old today!  She is growing so fast.  It is hard to believe that she has been with us for half a year already.

She is doing very well.  Ainsley has continued to stay healthy.  Mom and Dad both had colds and Ainsley escaped with just a little bit of a stuffy nose.  We continue to stay close to home to keep her from coming in contact with those that are sick.  She has also had two synagis shots, these are the shots that help her body fight RSV if she were to get it.  It feels like all we do at the doctor is shots these days with the synagis each month and her immunizations...but that is better than going to the doctor because she is sick.

At her last doctors appointment (Dec. 21), Ainsley was 14lbs 4oz!  She also had another appointment with Dr. Wheeler to check her eyes.  You might remember from an earlier post that this is the doctor that was checking the photos of her eyes while we were in the NICU for ROP (retinopathy of prematurity) and that we visited about a week after coming home for the hospital.  At that point he said everything looked great and he would see her again at 6 months to see how she was doing with tracking (following things w/her eyes).

So, on December 20 we drove up to see Dr. Wheeler again.  Ainsley was very fussy because she had not slept well the night before and wanted to sleep right before we had to leave for the appointment.  Dr. Wheeler did a great job and was so patient with a fussy little girl.  Everything went well, her eyes look great and we will go back to see Dr. Wheeler again when she is almost a year old for a follow up.  Yeah!!

We had a delightful first holiday season as a family of three.  Ainsley's Great Grandma Stringer came all the way from Indiana to visit for Thanksgiving!  It was so special to have her here.  On Thanksgiving day Ainsley got to spend time with four grandmas and a grandpa: Great Grandma Stringer, Great Grandma Lynn, Grandma Sherry, Grammy, and Grandpopz.  It was a lot of excited and she did very well.  She slept very well that night :-)

On Christmas Eve we spent time with Great Grandma Betty, Great Grandpa Kenny, Grandpa Bruce, Grandma Kris, and Auntie Kari. We had a great time.  Auntie Kari even showed off her skills by putting Ainsley to sleep.

Then for Ainsley's first Christmas her Great Grandma & Grandpa Bearden came from Indiana to visit.  It was very neat to have them here to celebrate!

Thanks to everyone for making it a special holiday season to remember!  We will post some recent pictures.

Loved looking at all the pictures. So glad to hear things are going well and that Ainsley had a fun time during the holidays. And also, 14 lbs! It doesn't seem that long ago that she was so teeny tiny! Go Ainsley :P

Troy - Thanks. And I know it is crazy to think back to our little 2 lbs 12 oz now that she is over 15 lbs (15 lbs 5.5 oz at 6 month Appt fri!).
