At her last visit she was 11lbs and 4.5oz and 23" long. She has been growing so well we are so thankful for this as this is a big concern with preemies especially ones born as early as her. With that visit she actually made the growth charts for her birth age in the 7% range or so, but if you adjust according to her corrected age she is in the 75 percentile.
This coming month we will begin getting her Synagis shots (RSV vaccination) monthly. This will help to reduce the possibility of needing hospitalization from contracting RSV. We are so glad we have been able to keep her from getting ill so far, by continuing to practice good hand washing and being cautious with visitors as we have asked that everyone coming over at this point have the flu vaccination.
It has been amazing watching our little own continue to grow, it seems long ago that we were so full of fear as she was coming into this world. We are so very thankful for our strong, healthy, growing baby girl. She now has great control over her head and will turn to watch you as you enter or leave the room. One of her favorite toys is a set of Mylar balloons which we received when we got home from the hospital, we put the string in her hand and she will pull them down and watch the balloons move for quite some time. However, I am not sure she is quite yet putting together that she actually makes them move.
